Shreveport Riverview Park and Riverfront promenade at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets • Bossier City, Louisiana

This year’s fireworks festival will be a Shreveport-Bossier event.  This event is free to attend.  Main viewing areas will be at the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City and the Shreveport Riverfront in Shreveport.  The evening is brought to you by Cumulus Broadcasting and the City of Shreveport and will culminate with a fantastic, awe-inspiring fireworks show sponsored by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau and Pyromania Fireworks. The sound and performance stage is sponsored by Christus Shreveport-Bossier Health System and Shreveport Coca-Cola. The kids zone is brought to you by Whole Foods and Bayou Bounce. Other important event sponsors include the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets, Whole Foods, LSUS, Kilpatrick Life Insurance, Wesla Federal Credit Union, the Bossier Economic Development Foundation, Shreveport Parks And Recreation, Shreveport Regional Arts Council, Origin Bank, Sci-Port, Panera Bread, Horseshoe Casino-Hotel, Downtown Shreveport Unlimited, the Alta and John Frank’s Foundation and the City of Bossier City.

Television coverage of the event will be on KTAL News Channel 6.

Festival Location

The Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival will take place at the Shreveport Riverfront in Shreveport, Louisiana, and the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets located at 540 Boardwalk Blvd., in Bossier City, Louisiana.

On the Shreveport side at Riverview Park there will be live music by Southern Roots and Christmas music by local choirs, local children’s performances, craft vendors, food and dessert trucks, Santa Claus, a face painter, bouce houses and fun activities for the whole family. You won’t want to miss the festival style fun!

The Louisiana Boardwalk is Louisiana’s original and largest outdoor lifestyle center. Visitors can eat, shop and play at the many restaurants and eateries, retail shops, movie theatre, spa, and hotel. There will be live music by Anxious, and Santa Claus will bring in the snow. The kiddos will love Build-A-Bear and Island Fun Arcade.There is ample free parking for visitors. To learn more about the Boardwalk, visit the website.

Schedule of Events

3:00 p.m.

Live performances from Shreveport Parks & Recreations choir and Green Oaks High School band on the stage at Shreveport Riverview Park.

The first 500 people at Riverview Park in Shreveport and the first 500 people at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets in Bossier City will receive a free gift from the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. They will be located by the Christmas Tree at both locations.

We will have the following food trucks on site:
Moni’s Brats, Garcon Du Bayou, Artias Gourmet Tacos, Sweetport and Wonderstick along with Coca-Cola and Freedom church selling coffee and hot chocolate where you can get your souvenir LSUS coffee cup.

Bayou Bounce will have 5 inflatables on site in the kids zone and Whole Foods will be doing crafts at Riverview Park and Party Central will have fun kids activities at the Louisiana Boardwalk.

We will also have craft vendors on site at Riverview Park in Shreveport and all of the wonderful stores at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets so you can do some holiday shopping.

4:30 p.m.

Live entertainment from Southern Roots on the stage at Shreveport Riverview Park.

Santa and his sleigh will be out by the Christmas Tree taking pictures.

Live entertainment from Anxious on the stage at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets.

Santa will be taking pictures and he will be bringing in the snow at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets later in the evening.

6:00 p.m. – 6:50 p.m.

Southwood High School’s jazz group will be performing followed by Christmas and gospel music by E.J. Fields, Kim and the Chosen Generations, J. Williamson – Showers of Blessing, Just Q from Praise Temple Church and Praise Temple Anointed Voices of Praise at Shreveport Riverview Park.

Performances by the Youree Drive Middle School Spartan Line and the W.T. Lewis cheerleaders.

6:50 p.m.

Introduction of our sponsors, the U.S. Marines and Toys For Tots, the Salvation Army, Mayor Lo Walker of Bossier City and Mayor Ollie Tyler of Shreveport will light the cities Christmas trees together.

7:00 p.m.

Mayor Lo Walker of Bossier City and Mayor Ollie Tyler of Shreveport will start the countdown and the Fireworks will start! A big thank you to the Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau and Pyromania Fireworks for our beautiful fireworks display!

The U.S. Marines will be by the Christmas Tree accepting new unwrapped toy donations to help the children of the Ark-la-tex have toys for Christmas.

Arrive early to get good parking and stake a spot on the riverfront for fireworks viewing.
Bring some cash to enjoy food from any of the outdoor food vendors.
All restaurants and shops will be open before and after the fireworks show.
Dress in layers as temperatures can change once the sun goes down.
